QUÉ ES ENTELEQUIA
Entelequia, palabra proveniente del término griego ἐντελέχεια (entelékheia) creado por Aristóteles a partir de las raíces en (en, dentro de), telos (finalidad, completo), y ékhein (contener, resguardar).
Aquello que contiene su finalidad en sí mismo.
Más allá de su acepción en filosofía clásica, aquí hacemos uso del término a partir del significado con que se utilizó en biología durante el desarrollo de doctrinas como el vitalismo, que si bien fue superada formalmente hace más de un siglo, presta algunos de sus elementos conceptuales a la exploración científico-filosófica reimpulsada a partir de finales del siglo XX y que en la actualidad trabaja por integrar aspectos de la metafísica al más amplio horizonte de la biología: aquél que abarca la realidad total percibible e inferida. El Universo. La Existencia.
Por tanto, honramos este espacio con el nombre de Entelequia, haciendo honor a una idea cuyo valor como herramienta exploratoria negamos deba ser sepultada bajo los decretos de corrientes dominantes científicas, una idea que, como verá aquí el lector que se adentre en la exploración de este espacio de conocimiento, puede ser clave en echar luz sobre el significado que, desde su advenimiento hace millones de años, la humanidad ha venido buscando con intensidad espiritual y racional.
En este espacio publicamos al alcance de todos, escritos formales que tocan una amplitud vasta de temas, pero unidos a un eje racional de búsqueda de conocimiento. Beyond its use in classical philosophy, here we apply the term as it was intended in biology during the development of schools of thought such as vitalism, which notwithstanding was formally surpassed over a century ago, lends some of its essential conceptual elements to the scientific-philosophical resurgence starting at the end of the 20th century and which currently strives to integrate metaphysical aspects into the broadest horizon of biology: the outlook which encompasses the broad perceptible and inferred reality. The Universe. Existence itself.
Therefore, we honor this digital space with the name of the spanish word Entelequia, honoring an idea whose usefulness as a research and inquiry tool we refuse to allow to remain buried under the decrees of contemporary scientific dogma driven by mechanistic reductionism; an idea that, as the reader who delves into the exploration of this space of knowledge will appreciate, must be key in shedding light on the fundamental question that has haunted humanity with spiritual and rational intensity since its advent millions of years ago.
In this space we publish formal writings that touch on a vast breadth of topics, all linked to a rational axis of inquiry into knowledge.
